What we do
EgoVista builds video datasets of human work gestures and licenses them to robotics laboratories training manipulation policies. Robots learning to handle objects need to see skilled hands doing real work, in real places. That footage barely exists, because nobody can obtain it without the agreement of companies like yours.
We are starting this programme now and looking for our first partner sites.
How a collection works
An operator wears a camera at eye level and works normally, during short sessions on an agreed workstation. No script, no staging, no interruption to your production beyond the session itself.
We agree the workstation, the zone, and the time slots with you in advance. Everything is written into a project sheet before anything is filmed.
What you control
You review the footage in full before anything leaves your site, and you exclude whatever you do not want released. No reason needed. Nothing is delivered until you have signed off.
The capture zone is physically defined and signposted. Anyone outside the agreed zone is not filmed, and faces are blurred before any external processing.
What your operators get
Participation is voluntary and individual. Each operator signs an agreement directly with us and is paid directly by us. You do not select the participants, you do not pay them, and you have no access to the footage.
That is not a formality. It is what makes the participation genuinely free, and it is what makes the resulting data lawful to use. An operator can stop at any point, with no consequence of any kind.
Participants must be over 18.
Why sites say yes
Skilled gestures disappear when experienced workers leave, and most workshops have never filmed any of it. A collection leaves you that record, and pays your operators for their time.
Beyond that, your workshop contributes to European robotics research, with data collected in Europe under European rules rather than imported from a lab on another continent.
What we need to know first
A short call is enough to tell whether a collection makes sense at your site. The questions we will ask:
what trade and which workstation
how many operators might take part
whether the work is done bare-handed or with gloves
what is visible in the frame that must not be released
who else moves through the area
Where employee representation applies, that procedure is yours to run, and we will provide the information file you need for it.
